Educator Member Application
Below are the requirements needed to obtain an Educator Membership through USSEA.
Step One: Complete Heads Up Concussion Training
This brief online course covers the important and necessary information related to concussion risk in sports. During this course you’ll learn:
- How to avoid concussions
- What to do when you suspect a skateboarder has a concussion
Completing this course ensures that USSEA Certified Skateboard Educators are putting the safety of their students first, and prepared if a student sustains a head injury.

Step Three: SafeSport Course Registration

- Purchase safe sport trained course
- Go to shopping cart
- Register for Safe Sport account
- Check out and pay $20
- Take course
- SAVE A DIGITAL COPY OF YOUR CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION

Step Four: Complete SafeSport Online training Course
Once you’ve successfully purchased the course, you will be able to complete it from your Learning Dashboard.
- This course takes approximately 90 minutes to complete
- $20 fee to complete course
- Completion of this course reduces liability when working with children
- Training covers the same range of topics that school teachers working with children are trained in.

Step Five: Submit Digital Certificates and Background Check
Once you have all proof of completion, digital proof can be submitted together during the application process.
You will then be asked to upload all digital documents and your criminal background check.
Once your application is approved you will receive a confirmation email with a link to join the USSEA Educator Membership.
